Beverley has a wide range of skills and applies herself to her work with consummate care and great attention to detail. Although Beverley arrived one week before my wife died, I was present to see for myself how ably she dealt with the various requests made upon her time. These skills included patient management involving checking and administering prescribed medication; preparing and serving food as well as manoeuvring a very weak person during toilet procedures; washing and examining for early signs of pressure soreness before applying recommended creams. Her written reports meticulously recorded everything that was noteworthy.
Also Beverley liaised with the visiting staff who came to the patient’s home from the local N.H.S.; Macmillan nurses and Paul Sartori Foundation volunteers who provided palliative care.
While the aforementioned often worked in pairs, Beverley managed to cope by herself to meet the patient’s various needs during the nighttime.
Before my wife lapsed into unconsciousness 48 hours before she died, she informed me how blessed she felt whenever they conversed about past experiences of mutual relevance. My wife regarded Beverley equally as an angel and a carer. Following the peaceful death of the patient, Beverley has stayed on to make her time last for a total of four weeks.
During her stay it has been a delight to have her presence like a member of my family. She has mentored me in preparing meals for myself according to menus suggested by my older daughter. Then, in conjunction with my younger daughter, she has monitored the injury on my right shin and checked for complications as it recovered from cellulitis. Beverley is completely trustworthy in handling valuable items and other people’s money when doing shopping. She has a methodical approach to collecting items for donating to charities and is most thorough in all aspects of housework. For example, laundry is not only washed and dried but ironed and neatly folded like one could expect if staying in the Savoy Hotel in London. Her cleaning of wash basins, toilets and even cars is to the highest standard.
Beverley is always courteous, cheerful and ready to help. She will only make herself unavailable for the duration of free time that is required in her contract.
All in all, I have no hesitation in recommending the services of Beverley to anyone needing a nurse, housekeeper, cook and cleaner.
